Wackiness!
Mood:  spacey
Now Playing: Delirious-World Service
Hey folks! Hope you are well. Found this cool site to share

WORST Record Covers of All Time!

Still sick, missed work Tuesday. Wonderful combination sinus infection/cold.

Last night I attended Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ. Don't believe the negative reviews (all of which seem to have missed the point completely). EVERY person in the theater was glued to their seats at the end of the movie...for minutes. I have never been to a movie where folks did not pop up the second the credits rolled. It is an experience that will promote deep thought and meditation. You MUST see this movie

On another, slightly more mundane topic...

Tonight on Soul Frequency-my buddy Greg Martin will sit in for the "Psychedelic Outhouse"! I can't wait.

Bless ya!

Yes!
Mood:  hug me
Now Playing: Yes-Live @ Boston Gardens-9/9/80 (Audience Recording)
Yo folks. I hope if you are reading this you are doing well.

Yes morning! Yay! I received a copy of Yes Live at Boston Gardens from 9/9/1980! GREAT stuff...an audience recording...but a very nice one. I am a "panther"-on who likes the Drama-period of Yes (`course I like just about all periods of Yes). I get a lotta flak for this because Jon Anderson, main man of Yes was not a member of the group at the time (Trevor Horn and Geoff Downes of the Buggles joined for a while).

"I am...I am...a Camera"

"I am...I am...a Panther-a"

Y'gotta listen to Drama to understand that.

ALSO...Yes fans need to enter this:
Yes Contest for a chance to win cool Yes booty...GREAT to hear they are finally releasing the oft-rumored 3 CD live box set this summer. Enter, but know that I will WIN! Mwah-hah-hah!

Got a cool Old Navy backpack today to replace the book bag that my wife said was too girly. Also listed to 1/3 of Wild at Heart on CD...GREAT BOOK!

LOTR fan? read this

Bless ya!

The Time...The Time
Mood:  lazy
Now Playing: Salem Hill-Sweet Hope Suite (Tom's Web Radio Show)
Man, I was gonna' post EVERY DAY on my blog. Ah well! Been really busy, trying to assist my Mom-in-Law Frankie who has cancer & her spouse, Step-Father-in-Law Howard. It is a tough, heart-wrenching time for all involved. Many decisions and much preparation needs to be made.

Yesterday I served communion to Howard and Frankie. I miss taking the Lord's Supper every week...the Coral Hill Baptist Church we have been visiting does not have communion every week.

Updated my web site today w/my Crunchy CD review and info about the upcoming Jeff Elbel/Ping interview. Should be very cool-he sent me a list of songs to play. The show will be a wonderful, eclectic mix of pop/rock/prog/art-rock masterpieces-it is really going to be cool.

Went to Bowling Green last Friday February 6 and hung out w/BIL and SIL Rick and Mary Abbott for her 40th birthday...we had a great time. I had a MONGO sized Frappacino thingie. If not for my better half I would not know what to order...she always orders it for me! I can never remember that name of the danged thing. I do, however, remember that I added coconut flavoring much to everyone's surprise 'cause I HATE coconut. Least I hate the real thing...but the flavor was yummy. Yum! Starbucks!

Did day 9 of Purpose Driven Life this morning. I got up at 5:30 AM today and could not get back to sleep. So I wroted 4 pages in my journal. I traveled for work to Elizabethtown and Campbellsville. Grey, yucky day...but I listened to the first CD of the Wild at Heart book on tape.

Lord bless ya' real good!

Superhero!
Mood:  cool
Now Playing: Magnitude Nine-Decoding the Soul
Ack, did not get to do Purpose Driven Life this morning...the latest virus of the day attacked my company (the store I am based in specifically) so our IT guys and my staff had had to scramble to get everything up and running.

What Marvel Superhero do you most resemble? Try this:
Marvel Superhero Quiz

BUT don't let the kiddies do it cause it is PG-13. Sad.

I came up as Arkangel which kinda cheezed me off 'cause I don't like him.

It snowed today...and it is COLD!

Had a good show last night...nice crew showed up for the good music. I gave a copy of Neal Morse Testimony away. Seems I caused a controversy cause I called it "classic" in my promo e-mail. Read about that here...

"Classic" Neal Morse Testimony Discussion

Yay! I am taking my wife out tonight! Bonus!

See ya,
Barry

GOOD BOOK!
Mood:  bright
Now Playing: Nothing! Listened to Rock & Roll Worship Circus This Morning
Good morning! Feeling chipper today...got to finish the next chapter in Purpose Driven Life & write in that journal. Great chapter today-I was PLANNED and CREATED for God's pleasure. Well, not just me...all of us were. That is a pretty heady truth-mind boggling even.

And revolutionary...if we lived like that it would be life (even world) changing. It gives our lives significance and purpose.

The Bible says "Work as if working for the Lord" (Colossians 3.23 if memory serves). And so the challenge for the day is:

"What could I start doing today as if I was doing it for Jesus?"

Man o man is that cool to ponder. Lovin' it.

Things I need to work on (areas):

Finished my FM radio show last night...reworked the Neal Morse interview and added some additional Spock's Beard music.

Gotta' get to work...bless ya!

Mid-Week! Yay!
Mood:  a-ok
Man, do I like to sleep. Wanted to sleep in today...and had a nice chat w/my wife before work. I could talk to her for hours on end. That is a good thing! We discussed the four letter "D" word...that's right, DIET. I need to lose some weight for my health...before the Doctor tells me I have too. I'm not fat (am I in denial? HOHO)-just "plump" according to my son Zach. Ack!

Listening to the free "Ultimate Edition" sampler from Best Buy-got it free for buying the Moody Blues-A Night at Red Rocks. Pretty cool for a free CD, but I am wondering WHY it is necessary to release an "Ultimate Edition" of Donna Summer's Bad Girls. Yuck. Not really fair that artists like Spock's Beard and Neal Morse languish in relative obscurity while Donna Summer gets the Ultimate treatment. Oh well.

Read my Glass Hammer Shadowlands review. Although it has my wife's name on it!

Welcome!
Mood:  caffeinated
Now Playing: Strange Celebrity-Remedy
Welcome folks, hope all is well with you. Be patient...I am new to the whole blog concept. The theme of this blog? Err...hard to nail down. Probably a little about everything...music, pop culture, my view of the world, links, books, comix, family, stuff on my mind. Hope you will check back often, feel free to comment.

Finished my journal entry for Purpose Driven Life Chapter 7 today. Topic-The Reason for Everything. Why were we created? Folks have been looking for an answer to that since time began...the Bible makes it clear we were created to bring Glory to God. We were created by HIM and for HIM and it is only in Him we can find our purpose.

Jerry F. is a friend I met on my radio show. His son has leukemia...here is a snippet of an e-mail from him:

"Tks. for the mess, I'm at Roswell Park Cancer Inst. here in bflo.with Jeremiah,He relapsed in Nov- He & I have been here more than home since. We are doing very well, though. He is in great spirits which keeps us upbeat to say the least! We are waiting for a bone marrow donor, should have positive word from his oncologist in the next few wks.I will talk atcha later,he's calling me."

Please keep Jerry, his family and especially Jeremiah in your prayers.

Bless ya (even if you did not sneeze),
Barry
